Success Case - Biological Contamination in Electronic Component

The analysis results revealed an unusual chemical composition in the problematic sample, including high levels of copper oxide, phosphorus, fluorine, and sulfur. The key to solving the mystery lay in an unexpected discovery: contamination of the parts by external agents. It was determined that the client had recently carried out fumigation in their facilities. The particles from the pest control chemicals, specifically organophosphates, were inadvertently dispersed to where the components were stored. This resulted in contamination of the parts, causing the short circuits.

The problem was seemingly simple yet perplexing: the client was experiencing short circuits in a crucial component of their machinery, leading to production interruptions. After several unsuccessful attempts to identify the root cause of the problem, the client turned to Metalinspec Laboratories for a solution.

Sample 01 - Shows Failures and Distinct Coloration

Sample 02 - No Failures, Regular Coloration

The team of specialized engineers at Metalinspec initiated a detailed analysis of the samples provided by the client. Using a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and conducting a Gas Analysis, they continued to examine the samples for any indications that could reveal the cause of the component malfunction.
